Using Library Databases to Find Articles and Other Information

The Library website offers currently registered faculty, students, and staff access to over 130 databases.

Selecting a Database
Webster University Library provides access to over 130 databases to support Webster University's curriculum. These databases include:

Databases are accessed via the Articles / Databases page, which arranges the databases into broad discipline/subject categories. To begin a search, select the category which is likely to contain the information you seek. Each subject-specific page will further divide the databases either by narrower subject or by the format of the information (for example, business articles or company financials).

The General/Multidisciplinary Databases page lists databases which cover periodicals from all disciplines including the social sciences (which includes business), science and medicine, the fine arts, and the humanities. If different aspects of your topic might be covered in the literature of several disciplines, you might start your research in one of these databases. For example, a search for articles about the economic impact of mental illness on society would span medicine, public policy, business, etc.
