First Class Session

During the first class session, you should distribute the syllabus (which you designed previously, using Guidelines, in the syllabus-writing section) to students and discuss it with them. You should also post your syllabus on your course home page. Faculty members are advised to remind students of the attendance policy of the institution and of their intent to enforce this policy. In addition, faculty would do well to remind students of the institutional policy on academic dishonesty, a growing problem in higher education. Both of these topics are discussed in later sections.
